One consistent piece of feedback I've gotten since taking on a design lead role in 2023 is that I make everyone on my teams feel heard and like their opinions actually matter.

Communication is key to collaboration, and my philosophy has been to include engineers and product in as much of the design process as possible. It produces quicker decision-making, innovative and outside-the-box solutions, and builds camaraderie in cross-functional teams.

I'm incredibly proud of the work I've done to help foster this on my two teams in my current role, and have mentored other designers who seek to establish the same culture on their own teams.
